We're looking for a talented web designer to join our established and tight-knit digital team. Who are we looking for?

You'll need at least 3 years of experience designing for the web, probably under the guidance of a senior designer/creative director, but will also need have worked on a few projects from concept to completion.

You’ll need to know your way around Illustrator and Photoshop. You will love agonising over user engagement and creating the best user experiences. Making the complex simple is what you live for.

You should have a good understanding and knowledge of the capabilities of CSS and HTML, even if you can’t code yourself, and generally being a little bit geeky is always helpful.

Big Fish Design are looking for a talented, middleweight frontend developer to join our established and tight-knit digital team.

We’re looking for a solid, middleweight frontend developer with hopefully a few years of HTML and CSS under their belt. While a lot of what we do is developing websites — getting visually stunning, engaging content seen by millions of people — we also do a lot of more complex and interesting projects, including things like developing large-scale HTML5 games for our clients.

While we don’t go along with the idea that someone’s worth is dictated by their years of experience, this isn’t really a junior position; we’re looking for someone with solid, proven skills.

Things that are going to be pretty essential:

• A solid background in HTML and CSS
• An up-to-date knowledge of modern techniques — that is, treating concepts like progressive enhancement and responsiveness as more than buzzwords
• At least a passing knowledge of jQuery — enough to do DOM manipulation, animation, etc.
• A head for mobile web development

Things that would be really handy:

• A more serious knowledge of JavaScript — consuming APIs, familiarity with libraries other than just jQuery, experience writing your own jQuery plugins, etc.
